Description
Harvester Kachina
1983 Bud Johnson P.P.
This bolo tie is a Shrine adaptation of the Hopi Indian Harvester (Avachoya) Kachina from the Hopi Pueblo. The Harvester Avachoya Kachina is one of the Corn Dancers which are in turn members of the Plant Kachinas or Tusak Kachinum. The Corn Dancers are the most common Plant Kachinas and appear during Kiva Dances and also Plaza Dances. This Harvester would be more typical of those which appear during the fall and winter Kiva dances.
